Customs, Duties & Import Information

We ship worldwide using DHL Express and Austrian Post, which covers most destinations.
Orders sent to the United States with DHL Express (DDP) or Austrian Post (PDDP) are shipped with duties and taxes prepaid.
For all other destinations, DHL Express uses DAP, meaning import duties and taxes may apply and remain the recipient’s responsibility. Austrian Post follows the same principle unless explicitly marked PDDP.

FAQ

Who pays customs?

For most countries, customs duties, taxes, or other import fees (if applicable) are paid by the recipient.
Exception: United States. duties and taxes are collected during checkout and fully prepaid by us (DDP/PDDP).
These costs are not included in our product or shipping prices. The exact rules vary by country:

• United States: All orders are shipped DDP/PDDP, meaning duties and taxes are collected at checkout and we pay them on your behalf. No additional customs charges will be requested upon delivery.
• United Kingdom: We only accept orders of GBP 135 or above. UK will charge VAT on all imports, and additional customs duties may apply above this threshold. Carriers (DHL or Post) usually collect these fees before or upon delivery.
• European Union: Shipments from Austria to EU countries are treated as intra-EU sales. VAT is already included in the shop prices, and no import duties apply.

What happens if I don’t pay customs charges?

Your parcel may be held by customs and will not be released until all charges are paid. If charges remain unpaid, the shipment may be returned to us or abandoned. In such cases, shipping costs and any return fees cannot be refunded.

When will I be asked to pay customs fees?

For most countries, carriers notify you once the shipment arrives and may request payment before delivery.
For US shipments, no payment will be requested, all customs charges are already prepaid. You may be asked to pay online before delivery or directly to the courier upon delivery.

Can you tell me in advance how much I will pay?

No, we cannot predict or influence the fees charged by your local customs authority. Rates depend on your country’s import regulations and the type/value of goods. Please check with your local customs office for details.

Why do EU customers see VAT included in prices?

As we are based in Austria, all sales within the EU include VAT, which is already reflected in the prices on our shop. This means EU customers will not face extra customs duties or taxes at delivery.

Which shipping service will you use for my country?

Most destinations are served by Austrian Post. For faster delivery, we also offer DHL Express. You will see the available options at checkout.
